Set off at 7am in order to be at Barmby for 10am as requested. Rang Selby lock and left a message that we were going there today, in case Barmby Barrage had not done so.
Arrived at Barmby by 10am but were told we couldn't go till 11am. Another boat which had been due to go out at 10, in order to get to Naburn, eventually arrived at high speed at 10.50.
I had not heard from Selby and Barmby had not been able to raise them today, so we waited as long as we could before admitting defeat and having to stay another day on the Derwent.
Walked into Barmby village to check that the pub really was shut at lunchtime, which it was, and back to the boat yet again for another sandwich.
Headed back up river for another night at Thorganby.
